Strategic Priorities 2018-2025 Cover PageSan José-Evergreen Community College District's (SJECCD) 2018-2025 Strategic Priorities describe our emphasis on institutional excellence and continuous improvement over the next seven years. These priorities are in line with our mission, vision, and values of opportunity, equity, and social justice. They allow us to build upon the foundation we have established with our Board of Trustees' Ends Policies of student success and community impact, and will provide the path by which we strive to accomplish the goals set forth in the Board's Global Ends Statement, which indicates that the District "exists to ensure all students, especially those with educational and/or socioeconomic challenges, will have the skills and capabilities to be successful in the next stage of their life..." (Click here to read more...)

For over 100 years, San José City College has been providing education and workforce opportunities to our district residents in San José; and for more than 47 years, Evergreen Valley College has educated our citizenry in south San José and Milpitas.

Our Community College Center for Economic Mobility (formerly Workforce Institute), established in 1988, is a training partner with many corporations as we work to develop and maintain a vital economy in the "South Bay".

Demographic changes, economic conditions, educational reforms, and the need for preparing students for postsecondary education prompted Measure G Bond funded initiative to build the San José-Evergreen Community College Extension (formerly "Joint Use 21st Century Post-Secondary Education Center") in Milpitas. This is a joint project between SJECCD and Milpitas Unified School District (MUSD) which began holding its first classes in spring 2017 with the following goals:

1. Promote a seamless system of higher education services
2. Expand access to higher education in underserved areas of the District
3. Improve regional economic development opportunities by providing
access to career and technical education

Educating more than 26,000 students each year, our colleges are hubs of teaching, learning and innovation in one of the most exciting cities in the world.

The San José-Evergreen Community College District exists to ensure all students, especially those with educational and/or socioeconomic challenges, will have the skills and capabilities to be successful in the next stage of their life, sufficient to justify the use of available resources. Please click HERE for Ends Policy Dashboards.

The San José-Evergreen Community College District, on behalf of San Jose City College, Evergreen Valley College, and Community College Center for Economic Mobility, has begun conducting a comprehensive website assessment, including testing and remediation, to ensure that District websites comply with the accessibility requirements of section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and implementing regulations including W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.

It is of primary importance that all of our website visitors, including those with disabilities, are able to access and use our websites without barriers. The District continues to make every effort to ensure our websites are ADA compliant and adhere to Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 Levels A, AA, and AAA.

While we are in compliance with the majority of these regulations, we continue dedicating resources toward mitigating remaining issues.
